Yesterday we got up real early and went to Boone NC area to see Grandfather Mountain. 6,000 ft up is awesome view when you get to the top

First pic is stepdad walking across bridge. Was 84 at base of mountain and 67 at top and real foggy and windy. Other pic is mom, stepdad and me.

I loved it. We could see a condiminium complex on Sugar Creek Mountain also. That was cool

There was a pet black bear brought from Atlanta zoo in 1968 that roamed all over mountain and they had pictures of her with kids

In winter 1953 it was heavily damaged by winds so they fixed it. It didnt sway yesterday and view you get is breathtaking

It is beautiful there. Did you make it a few miles down the Parkway to Mt. Mitchell? That is the highest point east of the Mississippi.

At 6,684' !! (my old stomping grounds)

Nice photographs, just like your filter photos!

I walked that swinging bridge after bicycling up to it from Hickory twice. It was seriously windy up there. The final straightaway up to the top is tough!

Did you come across the viaduct?

Nice to see. I love such look-outs. Thanks.

In March we saw Royal Gorge in Colorado. The view down from their bridge is hypnotizing. The Arkansas River is so far below you.

Maybe late spring next year. I came back to PA today

Lookout Mountain is one of my favorites. It’s easily a full day and maybe an extra half day. There’s Rock City and Ruby Falls. Don’t forget to ride the Incline Railroad.

Awesome son!!

I need to get there. I went up to My Mitchell which is the highest mt east of the Mississippi at 6,684 ft.

Looks like the clouds got to you all up there. Which is kind of neat in a way. When my lady and I went up to Mt Mitchell the clouds came in... You could feel the clouds as we walked through it. That was neat... Then... Started thundering. Not good. Got in car pronto. And left the mountain.
