I doubt he got to 195 that quickly.....not saying the car wouldn't do 195....he just didn't have the real estate.

It could easily get to 195 that quick. 900 horsepower at the rear wheels will do that!

OK you win.....he should have gone for 200!

Might as well make it 230, he only topped out 5th gear!

Seriously, it's a bit crazy how much horsepower cars are capable these days with technology; intercooled superchargers, twin turbos etc. It's pretty nuts.

That Vette would rape a Veyron.

No it wouldnt? .. ZR1 is cool but Veyron is 254MPH for old one, 267.5 for NEW one.

.. Here. 200MPH, not a Vette, likely "Japan" (take not of trucks and comments, i didnt catch that at first either)

.. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, France, closed road LOOK HOW IT JUST STAYS AT SPEED 200MPH+ (not same vid as i first saw)

.. lesser vid, INTOXICATING SOUND

Mod warning. Read this and understand!

The Vette in question still has more horsepower then any of the cars you mentioned Hanger. With proper gearing, it's a faster car. In flat out acceleration, it would rape a Veyron, that Ferrari, and the Lambo.

You are correct. I have the magazine article where it had the fastest flat-out speed at a two-mile strip, and was still accelerating. The Corvette is a phenomenal car, and i would not mind owning one. Or a Lambo.. i do see your point, though.

However, it still would not "R--e" it, as was said previously. it would merely "Be as fast as the Veyron."

(I am really minding my manners and links since i was shown grace, i need to be very conscious of the content of my postings. Will do.)

i agree with NHHEMI 200%. he should have to do LOTS LOTS LOTS of community work in a care home. so he can see how beautiful life is. oh and some in a child day care, same reason.

Fastest I've ever gone on the street was 160MPH, out on an open highway with nobody around. It really didn't seem fast at the time.

I think making a video of it was probably the dumber of the moves he made that day, but driving the way he did with people around was the most dangerous and a violation of their reasonable expected safety. I don't agree he should do jail time, but fines, suspension of his license, and community service seems appropriate.

That was all over Channel 9 here in OKC. He was actually on the Kirkpatric Turnpike, which can be highly congested a lot of times. I don't know if his car actually got up to that speed, but how fast he was passing certain landmarks told me he was smokin' it down the road. Been on that road many times and recognize it from the video. Anyway, cops went to his house and he said it was his car and that he was driving it. Don't know about this, but supposedly he had recently bought it off of ebay around 12/7.

Actually, making the video wasn't dumb. Posting the video on a Craigslist ad trying to sell the Vette and prove how fast it is was the dumber move!

Nah, it gets better. Well, about a little while ago, this guy knew this "guy" that could get him to use a certain runway so that he could open up his Corvette. Well, the idiot put it on youtube and the locals found out about it. He almost lost his job over it, he got demoted. I probably shouldn't be saying this, but it was on a military installation.

I find it amazing that so many have judged him. Don't they say something about casting stones when living in a glass house or something.

I can't believe no one is ever guilty of distracted driving, driving while tired, driving over the limit or too fast for conditions.

While this might have been a dumb move, I believe he probably now knows he messed up and will take his punishment.

AS for 190 mph. Unless is was clocked with radar or GPS I'm not buying it.

Whether it was 190 or 160, it's undebatable that it was over 150mph.

I guess you're right. The rest of us have probably gone 75 in a 65mph zone, so who are well to criticize someone for going through traffic at 150-190mph. Clearly, 75 isn't that much more dangerous than 175
