Very low mileage vehicle oil change interval?

Manufacturers don't specify their oil change interval by both time or mileage, whichever comes first? That's news to me.

Maybe not anymore. But back when the recommended mileage interval was 5k the recommended time interval was 6 months.

Lexus does for Special Operating Conditions which do not apply to most drivers. For my 2020 ES350, they call for 5000 miles or 6 months. Special conditions are towing, extensive idling (eg taxi), dusty roads or repeated short trips in temps below 32°F.

Most of my winter driving is short trips close to or below 32°…close enough for me to change at 6 months.
