Car has 110K miles & is a 3.0 liter Vulcan engine. Tempature guage remains in the normal area, hoses entering & leaving the heater core are hot. That would make me think the core is clogged but what do I know.

I had the cooling system flushed, no improvement. I pulled both hoses off the heater core & flushed with a garden hose both directions, it came out clear. Still very little heat. I see 2 3-way type valves but neither has any wires or cables to control them. What does the rotary tempature controller on the dash control?

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If the AF entering and leaving the heater core is hot, then AF is flowing through the heater core. No other way for the hose leaving the heater core to be hot.

The control on the dash control flaps to the duct work including the heater core. I suspect its not working or jammed. These days most are operated via vacuum but some might still be a cable.

I would try moving around the heater controls and see if you hear anything moving around in the dash.

I am slightly confused my 3 way controls with no wires or cables going to them. Are you saying something has fallen off or no place for wire or cables in the first place?

There are 2 what appear to be 3-way valves or some type of bypass but neither have ever had any wires or cables attached to them.

You'd be surprised at the junk that falls into the HVAC system through the defroster vents.

There is an air blend door somewhere in the system that controls how much air is sent through the heater core. This is probably jammed with junk that fell into it.
