versa and cabin filter?

ok , i went and grabbed the fram cf10545 is this a generic filter ,the side that goes in is way longer then the slit opening do i have to cut it to a specific lenght?by the way found my crackling noise , it was the door that block that when no filter are there . removed it ,no more dash noise
 
The cabin air filter should just fit with the POSSIBILITY of having to bend it a bit. If you have to kink the filter to insert it be sure you flatten it out once it's in position.

What year, make and model car do you have?

One choice you probably have is between a "standard" filter which will come in several quality levels and a "charcoal" filter which will promise odor absorption. These too come in varying quality levels.
Some cheaper filters are wildly "generic"-as in cheap.

Oddly enough my car, aVolvo V70, can have 2 THICKNESSES of filter depending on whether the car has regular AC or a system fitted with an air quality sensor.
