Good Afternoon folks. I know I’m not only one that loves Vegemite. Especially having tad low sodium. Have tried Marmite; both are very good I’d say. Where do you folks get yours? Also, do you use it in stews and soups like mom and I have?
If you do it on bread/toast add a good cheese on top. I prefer aged Swiss or Muenster. My last jar of vegemite came from Amazon.
I have seen marmite at a local Meijer grocery store, but have not tried it.
I usually just use vegemite as toast spread. I suppose I could try adding it to soups.
Add Vegemite anywhere you want umami flavor: soups, stews, and especially avocado sandwiches. Cost Plus carries both. Marmite is the older product, by the way.My last jar of vegemite came from Amazon.

I thought it was a fertilizer...... "Last week I treated my palms and Ocotillo with Vegemite, and they really greened up!"Marmite sounds like it may be a parasite.
"Mommy, this guy has marmites."
It may work. Vegemite makes ladies grow hair on their chests. Don't go to the beach in Australia.I thought it was a fertilizer...... "Last week I treated my palms and Ocotillo with Vegemite, and they really greened up!"
More than a thin smear scraped over a slice of bread is too much.Tried it once in Oz. Didn't like it, too salty. The antipodes think it's great, fair dinkum. Remined me of melena.
Lots of odd things down under.

What is in Marmite? No animals proteins.............not so sure.We can't get Vegemite here in Canada (at least not easily and affordably), but Marmite is readily available at all the major grocery stores.
I love Marmite, but had to give it up. It's very high in purines, and I think was a factor in me developing gout.
Marmite (and Vegemite) are yeast- based. What is in Marmite? No animals proteins.............not so sure.
Your gout is maybe caused by something else.........HFCS, sugars, fructose.......
Anyway, I need to try Marmite again, it's been years. Vegemite is good, really thin, as vava says.

It's an excellent source of B vitamins, especially for vegans, as it's one of the rare non-animal sources of B12.What purpose does Vegemite serve? Doesn't look particularly nutricious. They have to add vitamins to it.
I got my shipment of Marmite today. God, I love both vegemite and MarmiteIt's an excellent source of B vitamins, especially for vegans, as it's one of the rare non-animal sources of B12.
For those of us who prefer savory to sweet flavours, it is delicious.
