Mobil 1 is in it. I change oil every 6k-7k.

My Accord only use 5w-20, so I'd better use 0w-20 than 5w30, I guess?
Use whatever grade oil you want, my only question is, do you have a way to monitor your Oil Temps?
I don't. I have a Launch Scanner, I don't think it has.
Just keep an eye on the Oil level, and you should be ok!

It’s very easy to pay a lab and own the intellectual property of what they develop. This is very common in medical research. Drug companies fund research all the time in labs in universities. Anything they develop is owned by the drug company because they paid for the research.
Generic spec for SP rated oil or factual Valvoline Restore and Protect NOACK ? … A NOACK of 14.9% would be pretty bad for NOACK - especially in a GDI engine !
I’m not sure it’s published. I think it’s estimated based off others’ Noack.

I doubt any vehicle can monitor the oil temp at the oil control ring on the piston. Which is where the problems today are created. I would think that the flashpoint of the oil would determine the carbon disposition there but I am not sure what temp has to be reached to form the carbon from oil and fuel. I would think that most of the carbon from ignition would head out the exhaust port or stay above the compression rings.
It’s going to be a couple years to know for sure. It took 60k miles to develop the oil consumption, I’m 10k miles in with ESP. Currently consumption is continuing to improve. Down to 1/2 qt in 5k miles.
NOACK is evaporation loss. Why is this an issue in a GDI engine?
You say this like it is a bad thing for Valvoline. Or I am misunderstanding your point?
Stating the Noack as <15% doesn't mean much as it could be 8% and still be "<15%". The API requirement for Noack is <15%, so they are just listing that and saying it meets the "<15%" Noack requirement. If you call Valvoline they may give the actual Noack number.
