Valvoline Nextgen in Powermore Huskee lawnmower

Manufactures recommend 10w-30 for ohv engine push mower engine. Could not find any HDEO in that weight so just went with Nextgen. Probably have 15 hours on the oil. No oil consumption under some hot weather conditions but the oil has turned a amber color and when I check the oil before each mowing there is a carbon like black look on top of the oil under the cap. The oil has a fairly low Noack of 10% or 11%. Just my observations that this has provided pretty good protection and will be ready to change at the start of next mowing season. Maybe will do a UOA on this to see how the oil held up.

Rotella T5 10w30 can be found at Walmart at a good price.

Im lovin it so far


BUT.... If maxlife is workin for ya, stick with it. Its easier to find.

This is conventional nextgen not maxlife nextgen. Good point on the Shell t-5 rotella. Sometimes I can find it at Chinamart.
