2005 Chevrolet Colorado 3.5 Would a 6000 mile OCI be ok?

Check your manual. It probably has a 5000-7500 mile oil change interval recommendation anyway and that would be for regular oil not Syn. Just use a good filter like a Napa Gold, Carquest Blue, Puralator Pure One.

6000 mile should be no problem.

If you have the oil life monitor system (should on a 2005), then run it until the OLM says there are zero miles left on the oil. That should get you well past 6000 miles, maybe close to 9000 if you do a lot of highway. You will have a margin of safety on the OLM when using synthetic as it was designed for the standard fill, which likely is a conventional or maybe a blend (not a whole lot better than a conventional anyway).
