Your opinions on it? Are these any good?

After all, they do come from Champion Labs, the same oil filter manufacturer for STP/AC Delco/Supertech/Mobil

Valucraft oil filters cost about $2.19/ea from Autozone and are easily available to me

Is this one of the best bang for the buck oil filters?

Note: I also like Supertech oil filters, but I can only get them at Wal-Mart, which is a LONG drive from where I live. I'd much rather go to the local Autozone, which is 2 blocks from my house

I think ST and Valucraft filters are identicle...I use them.
They autozone near my house sells them for 1.99 but all the other autozones sell em for 2.19

I think the ProLine filters at Pepboys are a good deal, especially when they are on sale. They are made by purolator. About 3 bucks each for most applications.

I've also noticed that the SuperTech and Valucraft oil filters appear to be identical. I'll get whatever's easier to get to, which in my case would be the Valucraft.

I remember when the Valucraft oil filters still used to be $1.99/ea, but a 20 cent difference isn't going to break the bank

There isn't a PepBoys close to my house. Only an Autozone and a Kragen. I don't really like going to Kragen, because their prices tend to be more than AZ's and they don't have as much selection in their stores. They carry mostly Fram oil filters, which I never plan on using

I cut open a 3387A version on the Valuecraft.

It was the older metal endcap version.

It seemed to be well made with quite a bit of filter material.

If it is the new E-Core version, there are some on the baord that have concerns about using them.

My gf's car (93' Olds Cutlass 3.3L) uses that exact same part#

I used an AC delco for her oil change last time, but I'll be switching her car to Valucraft as well

At my local Autozone, the Valucraft 4967 were still the old non-ecore design, but the Valucraft 3387A and some of the other Valucraft oil filters (V8A) had switched over to the e-core design

I haven't really seen or read any conclusive proof that the new e-core filters are inferior products compared to the more expensive filters out there.

4967 "toyota" filters are soooo tiny... I wonder if they will make e-cores for those.

The e-core filters are very light and have the plastic rib core. I just bought a Valuecraft and it was a Champ filter, non-Ecore. Stick with them for now. The only e-core at AZ in my applications were the STP filters.

So do I..
They must use the new concept, a computer controlled one billion dollar factory ran by one man, one hard working man, I may add.

What are e-core filters ?

Newer design from Champ Labs, seen in some of their Wal-mart SuperTech oil filters, as well as some Valucraft line of oil filters at Auto Zone. Try the search feature here at BITOG. Weeks worth of reading on many topics!

I cut open a VC filter in the "short" size that fits the Nissan/Infiniti VQ35 V-6. It was the Champ labs metal endcap design, just like it's expensive Mobil-1 brother, but it had sigfificantly fewer pleats than the other same-size Champ Labs products I've cut. Well made, but no free lunch, I suppose. Oh well...

Even though I personally don't use Champion post e-core redesign... (I'm just not sold on the flapper bypass...yet) I find it amazing CL can make a reasonably decent filter for so little money.
