UV properties of Zaino Z10 - Leather in a Bottle?

Sal Zaino has said it is roughly equivalent to SPF40 for humans...

The one thing I love about Z10 is that it makes your car smell like brand new. No other leather product smells as good, IMHO...

Duragloss leather conditioner smells similar to Z10. Not sure about UV protection of Duragloss. BTW, Z10 has stayed shiny for at least 10 days. Guess it does not soak in well in cold weather. Sal said the shine usually goes away in a wwek or so.

The reason I ask is that I'm thinking about using it on the dash of my wife's 2004 Acura TL.

Before we got married she had taken it somewhere to be detailed. I'm not sure what they used on the dash, but she said about 2 weeks after they detailed it the dash began to get pasty white splotches on it. A couple of them are quite large, about the size of my hand.

I've used 303 since I bought a Durango new in 2000 and love it. Used it on the dash of every car I've owned since them. I thought it might help with her dash, but it doesn't seem to. Was thinking maybe the Z10 would do a better job but I was worried about giving up the UV protection in the 303 if I switched her car to the Z10.

Looks like it has the same SPF as the 303 so I guess it isn't a big deal.

According to Zaino the Z10 can be used on vinyl and plastic. Thought it might be worth a shot.

Yeah...I've used Vinylex in the past.

Try cleaning the dash with a gentle cleaner, perhaps several times, to remove crud and older treatment materials. Then use 303. IMO, 303 is not a cleaner. I think 303 will have less shine than Z10.

Z10 and 303 have a pretty equal sheen on the dashboard, hard to tell any difference...

I use Z10 on my dash for the UV protection, new-vinyl look, and the wonderful smell...

and yes, it is recommended for, and applies easily to the dash. it's not just for leather...
