I dunno

..but I don't really see why not. Be one of the first and report your results (or lack of notice - whatever)

I ended up putting MMO in my Marauder 500 miles before my oil change during the Rinse Phase, the oil that was drained did come out darker.

I used Motorcraft 5W-20 for the Rinse Phase, the car seemed to like this oil.

I am contemplating using a half a quart of MMO along with 4 quarts of dino 5w30 in the rinse phase. We know that Auto-RX reccommends dino oil (including gr.3 syn) for the rinse phase so the question is whether anything in MMO would act differently and inhibit the A-RX from doing its job? I doubt it.

PS: I have 4 qts. of older SJ QS dino 5w30 that I'm using. If I had 5 qts. I wouldn't be using the MMO.

MMO is harmless to engine seals and gaskets. Nothing to worry about there. It actually aids in keeping them pliable.

Are you saying that using MMO in the rinse phase could cause a seal problem?

I ask because if there is any doubt I'll use a half a quart of different dino.

How would he know, has he used MMO. I have had no seal problems while using MMO.

I would not make a habit of it but it should not hurt it in the rinse phase. I do know that frank commented once about ARX gobbling up solvents when placed in the crank cse with ARX thuse nullifying the effect of the solvent or ARX but that was a conversation about the clean phase not the rinse phase. Since most of the ARX would in theory drain out with the clean phase oil I do not see where the MMO would react with it since the ARX would have already done it's job of softening or liguifing most of the sludge. If you have not already done so I would not do it on purpose! I would just follow the directions and save the MMO for another OCI!

From my observation it is the otherway around, the stronger oil additives will cancel arx out, I have seen it when I have changed my oil.

How did you determine this?

When I drained my oil I could see some brown bubbly stuff that looked like arx, it definetly was not oil.

I would like to add since we are discussing the rinse phase here. I am assuming ARX at this point has done it's job I have wanted, which is to slowly soften or liquify any sludge or deposits. Now in the rinse phase wouldn't a gentle cleaner like MMO possibly enhance the ARX's effectiveness over say a regular oil?

I agree with your statement and I think that a gentle cleaner like MMO would help arx's effectiveness.
