Pipe down the outrage.

I haven't attacked you because of your age.

I'm free to have an opinion on Fox "News". If you take that as a personal attack then that's your problem.

"Mystick" was a spelling mistake. I apologize.

"@Mystic" was not a mistake, it simply means "At Mystic" as a shorthand for the comment following being directed at Mystic.

If you're going to interpret everything as a personal attack, there is only so much I can do before my right to free speech is restricted. I would suggest you put me on ignore.

Number one in cable news means that 0.5% of the US population watches it.

And even then, Doug Hillary has less than 5000 posts while a bunch of people have more.

Don't tell me to shut up TrevorS. I can also say what I want to say. And I can do some research and provide what I need to provide to the moderators. Don't tell me that a spell checker is going to misspell 'Mystic.' And nobody should need a spell checker for that anyway.

Since you have decided to make a comment in two different posts today about things I have said in those posts I took you off Ignore and I will report you every time I feel you have attacked me.

And I will watch whatever News network I want to watch. This is a free country. And I don't need any lectures from you on diversity.

I have about 6900 posts here in 11 years. That is 1.7 posts a day. I don't think that is excessive.

I've seen others spell your name "Mystick" also.

You should go and research that and report them to the mods as well. Who knows, they might not like Fix News either and that will be doubly satisfying for you to report to the mods.

Thanks for the links TNS; since "the UN" is not mentioned as the recipient of control, I will throw the post title into the "Just more reactionary panic." that uic50 alluded to.

How much more will we give away??

Regardless of their intention to control something they currently have 0 control over, the post title is just false.

Conveniently every attempt to show proof of the post title was discharged to news agencies who reported no such thing.

This is pretty much the definition of propaganda.

The US already vetoed an attempt at the UN to allow them to control parts on the net

Well now we have you on record that my post was 'just more reactionary panic.' It said on FOX News that the administration was going to turn the control over to the UN. It has not happened yet and their is some backlash against all of this. But if in fact the control is turned over to the UN, I am going to quote what you said.

This is the computer section and I thought this topic would be of interest to computer section viewers. It should be of interest to anybody who uses the internet. It could have profound effect on the internet. All I did was mention what I had heard on the news and that the remaining control the USA has is going to be turned over to the UN if the administration is able to do that. Like I said there is some backlash against that.

I reported what was reported on the news. I don't have to provide some kind of proof or evidence to you. If you are interested Google for information yourself.

LOL Great source!

"We need less government control! Wait, our government is giving away control of the Internet? We need less government control... except when it come to the Internet. Government control is fine there. If fact, government control of the Internet is so awesome that our government should exert control over the Internet on behalf of people in *other* countries." - Tea Party

For a little ultra-lib ying to the Koch-fueled yang that's been posted here so far:

My favorite part, as it pertains to this thread:

It's unclear who will take over the responsibility, but as The Washington Post points out, it will almost surely not be the United Nations.

Thanks a lot for your support ToyotaNSaturn. I have been laughing at some of the commentary here in this post. If somebody knows how to use the internet there is lots of information about this. The Wall Street Journal had an article. It seems like guys who are interested in computer technology and the internet would be aware of all of this but apparently some people are not. If the UN does take over control of the internet and some countries like Russia and China get a lot of control they may wish they had paid more attention. There have already been things done in some countries to shut down free expression and silence certain groups and not allow certain content.

On the other hand the USA has angered a lot of people in other countries by trying to spy on everybody and everything. But I would rather have the USA in control than some group of countries at the UN.

The news media in this country is in pretty bad shape but still there is abundant information available on all of this.

The rest of the world feels quite differently; especially when this type of stuff tends to spring up every day: http://www.democracynow.org/2014/3/17/snowden_docs_expose_how_the_nsa
