Hey guys, currently running Ravenol MTF 2 in the Type R. Since doing 2 fluid changes in 10k miles the car has no 2nd gear grind.

However, I both respect and value American business and  want to switch to HPL, thinking their transmission life. After comparing on from the viscosity thread the HPL 75w-75 would be the most appropriate?

The car is 100% daily driven 12-15k miles a year in Pittsburgh, 5 auto x events a year give or take and 1-2 pitt race track days. Currently not tuned but that will change in the spring. Feel free to hijack or race talk, I'm just ready to jump on the HPL train (also thinking 0w20 supercar for autox duty).

Why not give a try to Amsoil MTF? I does very well in my 6spd Honda transmission. Gorgeous car btw, beautiful
I do like Amsoil but their MTF is a little thick. A ton of Honda guys like Amsoil or the AC Delco. Having success with the thinner Ravenol I've been looking for something around that viscosity.

it is a little thicker, although I have to say that it dramatically improved shifting experience in my 6 spd. I'm in STX so your experience in PA can be different. regardless, enjoy an amazing car!

The HPL Manual Transmission Life 75W75 at 7.1 cSt would be good choice.

I would refrain from purchasing any Triax product.

RP Syncromax did that for me in a T6060 tranny but don't know if the syncromax would be a candidate in your transmission or not.
It falls within the viscosity of the Honda MTF, I'm glad you said that it worked for you; Honda guys on other forums have bashed it. I ran RP engine oil and rear diff oil in my 370z nimso with success.
Why not stick with the Ravenol?
I am out of stock and was looking to support American business this time around. Im also curious about HPL, would just bite the bullet on 1 big shipping order.

Yea, my 2013 GT500 had a "notchy" 2nd gear shift, Wife would complain about it when she drove the car. A couple of local guys recommended I give the syncromax a try. I changed the fluid without my Wife knowing I did it, sort of as a blind test.
The first time she drove it afterwards she came in and said "How did you fix the shifter in Shelby"...the shifter was obvi not the problem but that is how she equates it.
It really was a night and day difference.

That's really awesome, If I can find synchomax at Walmart or autozone I'm tempted to give that a try instead.

Get HPL, Amsoil, Redline if you going US companies. If you go something that is not shear stable, depending how much time you spend on track, you might have some issues with shifting due to shearing. Ravenol works bcs. it is a high-quality product.
Also, for engine oil, go Euro oils that have MB 229.5 or MB 229.51/52 approvals.
