I have an iPhone 4S. The Twitter app on my phone is using 1.2 GB of memory. The app is only 20MB. Any idea why it's using so much memory, and how do I fix it?

bdcardinal, Yes. I did that update. Any idea on how to fix it if so?

Rand, I'm not real tech savy. To me those are the same. How do I tell the difference?

Twitter app caches everything you ever touch, it grows without limit, consuming an inordinate amount of storage on the iphone/ipad.

Delete the app, re-install the app, is the only way to clear out Twitter cache files.

If you don't have a huge amount of followers, Tweetcaster is a great alternative. As is the Slices app, it can handle Twitter accounts with thousands of followers. Personally, I prefer Slices but it doesn't have interactions yet.

Thanks for the info. Am I the only one that thinks that a really bad design?

Not really a fan of the preview pictures. You can turn them off in settings. I follow a ton of um "adult acting" people, so Twitter is pretty much a no-go at work.

Oh no. They should have some setting to throttle how much cache it keeps. 100MB would be plenty.
