I am searching for a quality oil for my new motorcycle and came across Triax. Who knows anything about this company? I have been using factory Kawasaki full syth 10w40 as recommended. Looking at my owners manual, looks like the 10w40 is operating right at its max recommended temp here in FL. Been contemplating moving to Mobil 1 20w50 but see that it is marketed as for V-Twin engines. Whats the difference or is it simply that the v-twins tend to run hotter? Anyhow, Stick with the Kawasaki 10w40, swap to Mobil 10w40, or 20w50, or is the Triax a better oil than those other two? Thanks for the thoughts.

It would help to know what motorcycle this is for.
Is it air or water cooled?
What does the Owner's Manual specify?

Here are a few previous threads on this brand, some of these may have lists of other threads. There are many, many more than these.

A well known obfuscator of approvals and licenses. Some sheets claim they "meet" or are suitable for approvals that are mutually exclusive and cannot be met at the same time.

Thanks for all the responses! Looking to use it in a 2024 Ninja 500 and Z900. Reading other posts Im thinking probably moving to the Mobil 1 20-50 might be a good choice. I don't like operating at the upper temp limits of a recommended oil. My manuals show an upper ambient temp for the 10-40 at 104 f. I am routinely sitting in traffic and riding in temps at 100 f. Low temp pump-ability just isn't a concern here in Florida as it might be in other locations.

My All Track routinely runs oil temps between 212-221 F.. Has for years. Oil stays clear and it runs well. what upper temps are you seeing that has you so concerned?

Hey Boomer, Oil and water temps are fine. I'm simply going off the manual from Kawasaki which makes oil recommendations based on ambient air temps where the bike will be operated. If I were in a cooler climate like where you are, the 10-40 would certainly be well within those temp ranges, as well as give better oil flow at startup on cooler mornings. What I was referring to is that looking at my chart in the manual, the 10-40 is only recommended up to an air temp of 104 f. While the 20-50 is listed to go up from there but having a warmer lower limit of course.

you don’t need 20-50 if it’s liquid cooled. Stick with the Kawasaki oil or Mobil

Use Triax in my riding mower. According to the dipstick, it doesn't blacken up very quickly, so I think it's good oil. Never used it in a vehicle though. Have a lot of grass to cut on a little 15.5 hp single cylinder Briggs. So far, so good. 30wt oil

I used Triax 75W80 GL4 in an Audi A4 quattro”s transmission and it worked fine. I don’t/wont use their engine oil however.
