Mori, I wish I could say that about my butt, my [censored] is as flat as farmland LOL.

Sweet. I have that same truck. None of the chrome but the same exact truck with the bugshield and rain guards. Is it the 5.4 liter. Mine is.

It is the 4.6 liter, which I am okay with, I dont do much towing and the like, and my 97 4.6 yielded me almost 230,000 miles and probably had a lot left in it. As far as the chrome pieces go, I made an official statement that I hated them before I even bought the truck and started exploring ways to get them off. When the deal was done and I brought the truck home, my wife decides that she loves them, and being that this is mainly going to be her vehicle, they will stay.

Wifey noticed some nerf bars on another truck yesterday and mentioned them, so I think a set will be installed within the next couple of months.

Your '97 is in really good shape for 230,000 miles - I would have guessed it had less than half of that!

You have much mechanical issues with that 4.6 in that many miles. I think that is one of the best engines Ford ever made. I would take one over a 5.4, we have some 5.4s at work and they are so hard on gas and really dont seem to have all that much more seat of the pants performance.

No issues as far as the engine itself. As for the truck, a heater core at 162,000, clutch at 180,000, and ball joints and tie rod ends somewhere in the 180-190,000 range. Overall has been a really good truck, I dont regret a day of owning it.

Very true. My little brother just took home an 08 F-150 yesterday. Please excuse poor quality, these are cell phone pics taken during test drive.

It is the base line STX regular cab with the 4.2 liter V-6, which fits his needs just fine.

The last of the great trucks. I owned a 79 Ford with a 6 cyl, enough power and at 300,000 miles passed smog with flying colors and the oil pressure was great via a mechanical gauge. Should have kept it but then I should have kept my 70 Challenger and my Vox Phantom 12 string guitar "one of the good ones" but hindsite is always 20/20.
