"Toyota is doing fine" - keep living in the la la land.
If anybody expected that Toyota will go down in flames overnight, and because it didn't happen, it means that they are doing fine, is delusional.
Toyota's execs are shaking in their boots, there is probably a big shakedown going on right now for people responsible for this mess.
Toyota knows that if hits keep on coming, they will eventually start seeing a decline in sales, hence big incentives, something that Toyota avoided like a plague in the past. They want to desperately keep the volume, and it works so far.
But if they continue the path of cost cutting and chasing volume, they will suffer, it will not happen right away, it took GM decades to be where they are now, but it will happen.
