I am using the Toyota (Denso - Thailand) oil filters, done at the dealer using my synthetic oil. The filter called out for my auto is the 9015-YZZF2 which they use. There is also a taller, 9015-YZZF1 filter that I believe to be the same size except that it is taller ( has more filtering area??) In my engine, with 5K OCI's and synthetic oil (Pennzoil Platinum) is there any real advantage to requesting the taller 9015-YZZF1 filter? Cost is the same on teh filters so that is not an issue.

What about the TRD filter which, I believe, is the equivalent to the Denso Japan filter that is put on the car at the factory. Would it be worth the extra expense to get the TRD filter?

NO. Your 5000 OCI is so concervative that even if the long/taller filter had more area ( don't know that it does) it would make no difference.

purolator pure one 14476 is the shorter one, 14477 is the little longer one (one's i use)
