Total sent me some extra info on their quartz energy 9000 0w30 oil. I've been using this for 3k miles so far in my BMW and am pretty happy with it, although the valvetrain seems a little noisy. It gets up to temperature faster as I'm able to get an oil level reading from the OBC a couple of miles earlier than the bmw/castrol oil.

I felt like on paper this looked like one of the best approved oils.

I was hoping I could get some feedback as to whether any of these numbers are concerning compared to comparable oils.

Specifically, the HTHS is 3.52, and the BMW approval calls for > 3.5. I'm not sure if it's normal for approved oils to be right on this number (redline for example is at about 3.8, but not approved obviously).

It's a pretty good oil, you can use it with confidence. There are several BMW LL/VW 502-505 oils that are similar to it, like Pentosin Pentospeed VS 0w30, Lubro Moly Synthoil Longtime 0w30, Motul 8100 X-Lite 0w30, etc. (all mid-weight 0w30s with HTHS right around 3.5-3.6)
