What could be wrong with it?

Just once over everything, fixing the drive train on a 4WD can be expensive, and would be the first thing I'd be concerned about.

A bad transfer case, flakey transmission, signs of lack of maintenance, especially if it has a lot of miles, would be one of the most susceptible things to expensive issues.

That big hole in the seat?

I originally passed over it because of how the seat looks. However, given 1. Luck and that 2. Its right there and that 3. That MAY be a heated seat and that 4. Seats can be repaired or seat covers put on, stitched, etc etc.. (shops that fix seats?) .. Ill take it.

If it moves and doesnt smoke or overheat, and has no rust, im in.

RiceCake, im with ya. I 1. Pull the oil cap 2. Pull the radiator cap 3. Look for rust. 4. Look to see if the seller has an issue with me checking it out. 5. Hopefully, the seat is the only thing messed up. 6. Start it. 7. Drive it. 8. Listen for noises. 8. Look to see if seller wants to crank radio. 9. Let it run, watch the truck.. Maybe it just really IS priced to sell. I have the money in my pocket. Literally. Cash.

Bill of Sale and Title and Im out..........

Oh, and it is a 1996. Ad reads: Runs and drives great. V8, auto, 4x4, 190k miles, Leather interior, power everything, READY TO GO. Call

The seats are prone to ripping.

Any chance those are heated? I see padding under the tear.

It would be nice to find a place thatn can "Fix" them..

And that sucks, because, that was a nice Subaru with the HG redone and all.

So, now, tomorrow 9AM I endeavor for "this one" Im sick of this.

One thing depending upon the year is whether or not it was upgraded to Akebono front calipers vs Teves.

I buy any dealer only items for Jeep & Dodge Ram from Steve White Motors at a good discount. I email him my needs, he sends me a PayPal invoice, pay it and they are at my house in a few days.

The rest of the parts from RockAuto.

If its a 4.0 engine, then there is the issue with piston skirts cracking.

I would be concerned about the transmission on a Jeep with that many miles. Ask for any service records, if none then no big deal...but just make sure there is NO slipping or any other problems with the shifting. Then change out the trans fluid and filter Asap. Then repeat after a hundred miles. The 5.2 is a great engine, shouldn't have many concerns if it runs smooth and strong. If it is a Mass. vehicle then look over everything underneath for rust (obviously). Service the transfer case. Other than that you are getting an older vehicle with 190K. Roll the dice and be gentle on the gas pedal because it is going to cost a small fortune to keep gas in her.

I notice a dealer is selling this car. How much will that add to the bottom line of the $1200?

Any chance this is a good Jeep they just want SOLD?

doesnt look bad but count on it needing small little things. those are a dime a dozen around here. a friends dad just bought a cherokee 97 i think for 950 bucks looks almost perfect and runs good. they are just cheap.
