I am having a heck of a time finding a good showroom type tire shine that does not kick up all over my cars after it has been applied and had time to dry. So far the best product I have used is the Black Magic express but here recently, even it is getting residue all over the car, any suggestions?

Many of the tire shine products that sling onto paint are silicone oil based. You can tell if they're oil based if they look clear or are some funky color.

The water based protectants will dry after a few minutes and are safer for tires and paint. The most common water based protectant is Armor All Original Shine. Other top quality brands are 303 Aerospace Protectant, Mothers Reflections tire care and Meguiars Endurance. The best tire dressing I've used is Zaino Z-16.

Once you try Zaino z16, you wont mess with anything else. I like Stoners too when I'm lazy, but it requires a hand drying or it will sling. Z16 dries (so no sling or dirt sticking to it) and is true polymer protection with a very nice sheen, and if that's not enough it smells like yummy bubble gum.

I've been using Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss lately and like it a lot. It holds up well and as mentioned above, no sling problems. I'll admit it performs better on our car with Michelins than the other car with Goodyears.

Stuff smells good enough to drink so keep it away from children.

Stoner's More Shine Less Time or Looks Wet..No Mess.
I apply enough for a satin shine.
No slinging.
Zaino Z-16 is great and lasts much longer but I like the ease of a spray.
I use Z-16 if I'm detailing the vehicle on a windy day.

I use Mother's back to black. For some strange reason my car's plastic trim hates it but my tire loves it.

GREAT STUFF!!!

I've found that if you use a dishwasher wand (you know the kind you can fill with liquid soap), with a plain sponge at the end (not the scrubber kind), applying the water based stuff(like Armor All)is a piece of cake. This will work for some of the silicone based stuff if you enlarge the hole in the handle a little.

Armor All is really all I use now as I have gotten sick of the sling and the dust the other stuff attracts.
