Looking for another tool recommendation from the gurus.

I'd like to get a few tire pressure gauges to keep in my cars and the shop. Yesterday I was hunting for one and realized I didn't have any!

I used to have a Radio Shack digital tire gauge and it was pretty good. I like the digital and the pistol grip design. My goal is also
What gauges have worked well for you?

I have some pencil gauges, some dial gauges and a Craftsman digital.

You should get a gauge that covers your intended pressure range but also does not go way beyond. So my Jeep needs 32 and my pickup 45, so a 0-50 would be perfect. Less accurate would be a 0-100.

I have 2 gauges.

Dial ($35.00) & Digital ($12.00).
I like the idea of using 2 differant technologies.
It gives me a better sence of security when I can compare 1 gauge to the other.

I like using the Digital and would only get out the Dial if PSI was questionable.

Because air pressure is so important, I wanted good gauges.

0-50psi would work good for me. I do have one 0-20psi one for lawn tractor tires (and low tire pressures for offroad).

I prefer the dial gauges.

I believe they're more repeatable than anything else available which, I believe, is far more important than accuracy. You want equal tire pressure at each side.

I have 3 Milton tire gauges. 2 pencil type ones 5-50psi and 20-120psi. The dial gauge is 0-60psi. They are all made in USA. I like the pencil type one since it simple, durable and easy to use. The dial one doesn't have a swivel head which can be kind of awkward to hold plus it does not have any protection so can get damaged if handled roughly. It does hold pressure reading but doesn't have bleed air. I compared the dial to the pencil and they all appear to agree.

I have one of those Radio Shack tire gauges with the non-backlit LCD display. Had it for over 10 years and it's still working. I bought a couple of similar looking Accutire gauges at the Sears Auto Dept for less than $10 each. They do offer a backlit display and a replaceable battery that the Radio Shack version doesn't have. The new gauges seem to work just fine.

I have 2 gauges and they both read at lest 5 lbs different and the one at the gas station also reads different.i had some work done at a garage and the mech went over the tires and when I got home my gauge was more than 5 lbs less than his, so don't where or what kind to get and especially made in the usa as the china junk is just that

Just picked up a few of these recently and all 3 read the same (shocked). Cheap too. Plus backlight for dark hours. Might pick up a few more as stocking stuffers.
I have a few dial gauges that I just can't let go. But the Accutire... not bad for the price.

I have one of these. It's 12 years old, and surprisingly it still works.

I have two well used Milton pencil type gauges, a 5-50psi and a 20-120psi. I also have an Auto Meter 2343 0-60psi dial gauge.

I like the Slime brand digital tire pressure gauges. They are consistant and last a long time. They also meet your under $10 limit.
