Tire diameter differences

The difference in diameter is 1.2 inches, therefore ground clearance is reduced by 0.6 inches.

This is a terrible idea. That's a drop of 2 tire sizes! That means the load carrying capacity is smaller and that increases the risk of failure. You don't want that to be happening in winter!

Sell the tires and get winter tires of the correct size. Your family will thank you (more likely they won't even know, but YOU"LL know!)


Thank you all for your input. Why I love hanging around here. New snows it is in the correct size and load rating. Now to decide, Michelin, Bridgestone, continental.......

Ya Nokian is on the list too. Just a lot more expensive and more difficult to find. Besides Costco has a better warranty.
