Hiya all,

I've been thinking, with the price of Maxlife and Motorcraft blends so close to straight dino, wouldn't it be worth the extra few cents/quart? They're almost the same price at Walmart.

I'm a big fan of Chevron/Texaco dino, but with the recent price hike, I'm wondering... Maxlife or Motorcraft?

I've used MaxLife in 2 out of 3 cars I've maintained. It helped stop a small leak in my sister's old Firebird Formula and also performs flawlessly in my mom's '03 Malibu. I say go for it

It's pretty robust.

Are you getting caught up in the syn blend marketing label that could just as easily be applied to your preferred hydroprocessed oil marketed as dino. If it makes you feel better to "believe" the syn blend marketing label category, go for it. Do you have more respect for one brand vs the other in the way they market themselves?

The fact that maxlife has some(I think up to 20%?) PAO is just icing on the additive cake. Check the VOA forums to see why(or wait for TallPaul to reply to this thread).

Don't make you oil choice based on what the label says. I'm tired of writing about the "synthetic blend" labeling marketing ruse, groan. Group I mixed with Group III is not necessarily better than starting with Group II+ base oils.

Is Maxlife the only dino laced with that much PAO? Thats a huge advantage for the selling price!

U see, I'm a sucker for "bang for the buck". So to me, synthetics don't justify their price, unless I race a hot rod and live in Alaska or Texas.

BTW, I have an '03 Pilot with close to 200K. Like I said, I was sold on the "old" Havoline until they got greedy and lost their "price to VOA" advantage...same goes for GTX and others...
