Generally you can run what you like providing you are:
prepared to take risk,
do UOA's frequently,
not worried about cost,
your decision is well researched and
is based on sound science and truth.
Doc Haas runs 0w20 in an engine which calls for a 5w40 or 10w60 oil, but if read his articles you can tell he is not messing around. He knows his stuff for his intended purpose.
Not everyone has Dr Haas’s ability, academically and/or financially, to go at it alone.
