I used the JD OEM filter at 8 hours on the same engine. That was in 2015. For the next two years I used the Wix 51348. After that I've used the Fram TG3614. The latest one is on it's second season. I seriously doubt that the choice of oil filter makes much difference for a Briggs V-Twin. Just change it at a reasonable interval and call it a day.
Bought this at H.D. for the J.D.130 w/ the B&S 22 H.P. Twin-Cylinder . Looks to be a good filter ( Premium Guard ?) with the large holes for the center tube and the built in bypass valve . There is little bit more glue in the bottom , but nothing to deter its use . It also looks to be the same as in the video below . Was $14.99 (?) .

I think they are Premium Gaurd but they're the jobber filter grade ones that are made in China, probably not a bad filter, just not a good filter for $15, even the Premium Gaurd XL's rebadged as mid grade parts house filters aren't 15 bucks, although to get one of those you'd have to buy a 3614 equivalent not the stubby lawn mower filter but if it'll fit I'd just use the auto filter over the specific lawnmower filter.
Likely paying for the B&S label . I can live with the $15 . Mower in use for 7 > 8 months . Using the filter above w/ about 2 quarts of PENNZOIL Ultra Platinum 5w-30 .
