Thinking of looking at used small SUV - thoughts?

When inspecting, I pulled the transmission dipstick - perfectly clean, bright red fluid. I'll try to find out exactly when both the oil and ATF were done, but it was very recently....

Get it rust proofed..
Most Tributes I've seen suffer from typical Mazda rear fender well rust.

I know 2 people with that vehicle, and aside from body, no complaints that I know of.

+1 about the CD4E 4 speed. I'd look for a newer Escape with the 5? speed auto.

^ It's too late. The 09+ models have 6 spd autos, and they've had their share of issues also.
