It took 20 years and finally Subaru has a worthy opponent to go head to head with the Aztek.

2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Edtion.

Wheel wells look pretty ugly but not Aztec level. The profile of the Aztec matches theRX350. Few tweaks here and there and it could have been quite respectable.

The Crosstrek is a decent looking vehicle. That cladding really changed the appearance on this model and not for the better.

Finally a replacement with the sensibilities of a 16nth century warrior.

Replete with acres of plastic ready to discolor 2/3 of the way through the note.

No it's not Aztek level of ugly. This just looks like every other modern forgettable car. Slit eyes, bass mouth grill, weirdly angular.

No, that Azteck was a special *****. Talk about a car cobbled together with spare parts. It's like someone who never saw a car, but read about them. They got a bunch of random parts, and tried to make one.

Lets not pretend this hasn't happened already...
don't forget this time in history... A mixture of Aztec and a mini chev Avalanche

It was the worlds first chick-up truck! They still go for quite a pretty penny. I’d buy one and put a 4” lift and 31” tires on it, then take it down some ATV trails with the A/C blasting!

If it were me I’d want to drop the tablet infotainment and get a sharper approach angle on that but otherwise looks alright to me.

Albeit, I am of the opinion that the Aztek’s oddball styling was just 10-20 years too early judging by what else is came out the past decade.
That's an interesting perspective. I think you're absolutely correct.
