A last-minute court appeal temporarily delayed what is like the inevitable. I have many comments I would revel in revealing but shall refrain so as to shun sounding akin to the proverbial broken record.

A small snippet. Follow the link or use Google news to learn more.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation has delayed plans to open the border to long-haul Mexican trucks until at least Thursday, after earlier reports that it could happen over Labor Day weekend.

"The Bush administration urged a federal appeals court Thursday to let Mexican cargo trucks cross the border and freely travel anywhere in the country, arguing that to do otherwise could strain diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Mexico.

The Teamsters Union on Wednesday asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to stop the program, which could go into effect as early as Saturday.

The union argues that the administration plan, which would let as many as 100 registered Mexican trucks deliver their cargo anywhere in the country for the next year as part of a “demonstration program,” would endanger public highways because safety issues have not been resolved."

Not to mention the effect upon trucker's wages, especially if the hundred turns into thousands.

Who cares if we strain diplomatic relations? Don't let 'em in an build a REAL big fence at the border.

Who else they gonna sell their dope to?

We honestly shouldn't give a fig for what Mexico thinks. Do they care for us? Their khrappy corrupt (worse than us!) economy uses us for pressure release. They official protest when we throw their law breakers back at them (I guess that shouldn't surprise us!!)

I guess they're the ones that remember the Alamo. I still think a free fire zone with at least 9month open season would work. You would get your border "stamp" at any post office and would qualify for bonus tags if the herd remained too high for the holding capacity of the environment. There would be no limit to bonus tags if the herd was not culled adequately.

Now you're still not allowed to hunt in the propagation area ..but that may change in time. Restrictions will, at least temporarily, remain in place for "fair game" that leaves the free fire zone and forages in other areas.

This is the news that you guys will not read unless you get the book. I went to school at Sonoma State and these guys are a trip, they go after stories that nobody else will. An entire class can work on one story and uncover the truth. It's good stuff-

obbop, I've notice lately that you seem to be posting a lot of quasi political topics, and by that I mean topics that are not in and of themselves blatantly political but which inevitably become so once the discussion gets going. Please stop doing this.
