This was installed on a 2001 CRV for around 5k miles. JL jobber filter is super tiny but seems well made. I was not impressed to find both the filter and drain bolt came off with very little effort. LOOSE! Last summer I told the owner to NOT go to JL anymore but he did again but he said no more. I refilled with QS Higher Mileage Engine and a PH3593a

Potting was solid all around, no defects or pinholes/tears. Seems like a decent filter, if I could buy in bulk for buck50 a piece I would.

+1 But 5k miles not a bad (ie. safe) oci/fci for quicky lube conventional oil&filter change. And third pic speculation correct.

This is one of those two filter sizes down jobber/quick lube consolidations. Skipped the 7317/14610/57356 application size on the way down. But, 01 Civic spec'd the 7317 size for first time, down from 9688/3593a size the year before.

Thanks for pics. A clean looking cut and post.

I tore the endcaps off and found copious amounts of potting totally sealing the ends, looks just like the Motorcraft filters I have torn apart
