Chicago Tribune article

I used to watch his show, it was funny! This is probably a case where the guy was sick along time and didn't go to the doctor until it was too late

I apologize for posting about anybody who died. I won't do it again. If anybody else points out this or that person, for example another BITOG member, has died, I'll simply quote a great postmodern philosopher -- Steve S.

And it's an appropriate comment? Is it an appropriate comment if it's made about someone you didn't personally know? What if someone were to say that to you when your child has just died? I think it's just a [censored] thing to say. Might as well say nothing.

mori, I don't think Steve's comment was meant to be quite as acerbic as you've taken it.

Bernie was a controversial comedian who made humor out of sensitive issues. It was obviously offensive to some, and hilarious to others. Steve is probably in the offended camp; you probably shouldn't take his comment so personally.

I am 100% sure it was a shot at the death of a "celebrity." That questionable status annoys some terribly. I don't see Steve post a similar comment when someone says his dog has died.
