You mentioned buying WMT in the early 70's.

Are there things on the internet you are viewing that might get you in trouble and AWS links your IP address ?

You always panic when the topic of Amazon collecting your web browsing history comes up..... I'm just saying. 🤔

No I didn't own Walmart in the 70s.

Panic?
Not in the slightest sense of the word.
I like millions of other people simply limit the amount of information companies can collect on me in order to package that information and sell it to the highest bidder.

The only people who seem to think I panic are the ones who do not mind their information being collected and sold. It's an extremely profitable business in the employees make tremendous salaries.

For the people who do not mind giving away their personal information that's fine it doesn't bother me in the slightest but for some reason some of those people seem to think I panic. Interesting...

I'm just doing my part to educate the ones that do care as I have learned from others and it's so pervasive in the United States that Consumer Reports has even had a very recent write-up on the whole practice. Even that is just the tip of the iceberg.

The people that do care are not in here posting on how they don't care.
Individual liberties in the United States are a wonderful thing. I respect that and the choices people make I don't impose what I do on anyone else.

For people who don't care or people with closed minds who will knock what other people do even ignore the words of one of the most successful companies in the United States. Apple CEO

Ordered a 5 qt jug of Valvoline 10w30 HM yesterday. 20 hours later, on my porch. $13.83 with free shipping, didn't have to leave my house, and $3 cheaper than WM online. Win, Win!

I don't think you know how Amazon Prime works. I've already proved you wrong on this before. $100/year for Prime is more than "just shipping." It's almost always guaranteed 2-day shipping with the option of free next-day or free/$2.99 same day shipping on occasions. This year I've already spent more than my amazon prime membership on 2, 1, and same day shipping.

Yesterday I ordered some multivitamins and pre-workout off amazon that is going to be here today with free next-day shipping. Finding those specific brands would take me 30 minutes to drive one-way to the vitamin store to get since stores like walmart do not carry them. That's an hour added on my day when I'm already gone 13 hours for work and it's 5F outside.

Then there's the added bonus of Prime Video and Music as well.

SO check your facts before you say "You then lament the fact that Amazon's "free shipping takes a week"..not for me it doesn't. "
Amazon tells you and right on the order that you place gives you an estimate arrival date of 7 days or more. Why do they do this? Mind games with people to try to get them to click for a few more dollars for faster shipping. Wally World doesn't play these games but your conditioned to play them.
Me? Price wins and free shipping wins. I use all the websites to my advantage as they use people to theirs..

Let's use the first thing I see on Walmart's website for an example:

SHARK ION RV700 Robot vacuum is $199 on walmart with free delivery - arrives by Thursday November 21. You don't even get any shipping options.
The same exact thing is on amazon, $199, with my prime 2-day shipping. Or I can have it come on Friday instead and I get a $1 reward for digital items such as music or movies. Or I can make it a gift and have Amazon wrap it up as a present.

But then again, you're the guy who complains about how amazon is "evil" then goes shopping at walmart as if they're any better to their employees.

Neither am I, and I just received an order 2 days after I placed it anyway. I never order anything I need urgently so sometimes I win like this, sometimes it takes a week.

Ironically the one time I did pay for expedited shipping the product arrived late and I got a refund on the shipping charge.

Your post is a case of you wanting other people to do what you do and absolute nothing do to with me "complaining"
You subscribe to Amazon services for $120 a year, I dont and the reason for your post is???
Is it that you that you do not like the fact that Walmart has free two day shipping and Amazon does not, unless, again, you subscribe to their services for $120?
Not understanding your post.
For the record, and I said it for what? A dozen times in this thread? LOW price always wins for me, doesn't matter who the seller is! Walmart, Amazon, EBAY, MACYS anyone. But I won't pay Amazon to ship things faster when, all things equal, Walmart gives me truly free two day shipping and Amazon up to 10 day shipping if I dont pay them for their services. It is a VALID argument for someone who does not want to pay and stay independent of a mass merchandiser.

Yes, I agree, Amazon quotes 7 to 10 day delivery for non prime members OR as a way for you to Pay to ship faster. I never pay and most times the stuff comes in a few days anyway.
I do use Amazon and any other site, price wins. What I dont like about Amazon is the way they try to get people to "pay" for free shipping, clearly bait and switch. You know, once you get down to your final order, how you can choose shipping?
Walmart, no games like that, its simply free 2 day shipping.

Also at times I do use Amazon over the holidays, I sign up for a free 30 day trail then cancel, though with Walmart now getting in the game, not sure I need to, unless, Amazon has a lower price.
Before anyone once again trashes me, I use them all, how many times do I have to say it ?? *LOL*
Low price wins, with that said, I will never pay Amazon for something others give me for free. I could care less about their entertainment.

alarmguy,

Amazon will be using drones in the future so you should receive your orders within a hour.

OT:
There's rumors that Bezos wants to buy an NFL team...

Yes, well known, already experimenting with drones (as well as everyone else), for me, low price wins.

Yeah, well, BOZO is not a friend of mine for sure... hope whatever team he buys fails

But seriously....

Your wife will be happy when she realizes she forgot a few ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner and all the grocery stores are closed.

She places an order on Amazon and 15 minutes later an Amazon drone is slowly descending into your backyard to drop off the box of ingredients..... saving Thanksgiving dinner for all your family and guests.

Until some maniac shoots the drone down with a shotgun for the prize within, lol.

Good point but might be faster to drive 3 miles and pick it up at Walmart. This way you know you will have it in time. :o)

My post is not a case of me wanting anybody to do anything, especially not the same thing I do. It's a fact of you're talking straight out your behind. I've already given you the facts. Yea Walmart has free shipping, if I want the product next week. Free two day shipping from walmart? Only on select products (as obvious that the first product I see on walmart's website is not 2 day shipping) and that's the same general rule that applies to non-prime Amazon members and shipping.

Btw, if you've noticed walmart is trying to do the exact same thing as amazon, except amazon doesn't have any brick-and-mortar stores. A quick look on walmart's website again shows that. Half their stuff listed online is through third party companies and not walmart.

Thanks. I see that same order would cost $114 on Amazon and why it pays to shop around, no matter what retailer.
Ugh, I just noticed, only 3rd party sellers on Amazon for this oil, one seller does have a 3 pack for $117.00
Obviously Walmart Wins on this one :o)
