OP shoot a PM to me if you would like to know of a few distributors in your area you may be able to get a better deal rather than shop at parts stores or wally world.

It was $5.40 a quart a year ago when I checked the receipt. I explained that to the guy on the phone. No go on lower price.

So that leaves me with looking for other 0w20 oils.

Looking at QSUD, finally found it locally. Looks like a sleeper oil. I did not see ST 0w20 at Walmart.

PUP is no here here in the wild. PP is decent priced but have heard it causes increased oil consumption? Don't have that issue now.

Course Valvoline and Mobil 1 EP.

The car is short tripped a LOT.

Today, at my local Wally World, Mobile 1 was $7.98 a quart.

I've not heard of what you mention with regard to PP and oil consumption; maybe you can point me to where you saw that. Personally, I would try it to see and give it a chance and just monitor for any consumption issue. I say that only because you mention you do a lot of short tripping. The lack of the car getting up to operating temps long enough to cook off condensation in the oil would bother me, so if it were my car, I would feel better running PP just because of that. Short of that I'd go with M1, then the QSUD. JM2C

It was on a Subie forum, not sure if I can link it? Of course many factors are involved with oil consumption.

The car never reaches operating temp. It goes from our house to the bus stop, 1.8 miles.
On the weekends I take it on a run.

Yes, have to look at the 5 quart price then divide.

The dealer I've been getting TGMO from is across from Walmart. It's easier to get into. And when Walmart moves into a larger building--it'll be more work for me to get into. Literally seconds off my normal commute right now.

But I know what you're saying.

Last time I bought some TGMO I noticed it had gone up from $5.50ish to $6.50ish, and made a mental note about looking into other options. If it's now $7something I'll switch. To what I'm not sure.

Well then, I definitely would go with PP if they were talking about a Subaru instead of a Toyo. I believe Subaru is involved in a class action law suit for oil consumption issues with their engines due to defective piston rings; not related to or due to any particular brand of oil.

It can still be had for $5.50 (or less) a quart mail order delivered to your doorstep, if your willing to order a couple of cases at a time. Check out places that do mail order on TGMO using part number 002790WQTE (12 qt case of 0w20).

PS: I have two vehicles that use 0w20 so two cases is about a years supply.
