Talking Heads and the Truth

He won't be fired. They didn't fire "Dr." Nancy Snyderman.

And NBC doesn't lose credibility to their minions and they can't lose it to the rest of us bc they have none...lol.

My wife is very conservativ like me...but she watches NBC and this is no big deal for her. So there you have it.

Steady as she goes at NBC.

I recall when the major news organizations of this country were interested in being unbiased, for the most part.

That started coming to an end about 1975. By 1992, it was no longer possible to trust them.

I thought this was gonna be a thread about the Talking Heads.

A news organization shouldn't be anti anything. That should be your first clue that organization is a sham.

It isn't just the mainstream media that lies. If you would bother checking you would know that cable news and talk shows lie on a regular basis. The problem is that people don't bother checking up on the stories and if the media you like is the one you like you won't and even if you did you would dismiss it. Until people start actually checking and holding the talking heads to the same accountability nothing will change.

Where did I differentiate between mainstream and other media?

What about the pro Obama cheerleaders in the media ?

Any media outlet that went to court arguing that they are providing entertainment to their audience, and therefore don't have to be truthful doesn't deserve to be called anything other than Faux.

At least they were honest about being dishonest I suppose.

Well, if you use dishonesty as a reason for exclusion you simply cannot watch televised news.

They ALL are liars and push an agenda.

Faux is an entertainment station, they only have limited "news" coverage. Seems to me most of it is personality driven.

NBC? Brian Williams? There are many more examples from virtually all of them....

Then better put NBC/CNBC on that list too.

Wasn't it NBC that was caught faking roll over results years back? Made them anti-carmaker, right?

The whole gang over an CNBC seems to be anti-conservative.

One must get their news from a variety of sources and understand the bias inherent in each source.

We stopped watching that guy several years. I thought he was too full of himself.
All these people have to do is read the news. Scott Pelley seems to that rather well. LOL.

Agreed. I long for the days when the news is just reported. No agenda, or mis-information. Just the news.

Just as important as unbiased reporting is who decides what is reported?

Many times the reason you must watch other news sources is that certain stories will get zero coverage....

Although it might be a bit more of a high profile story, I suspect Brian Williams ( after his self-imposed 3-4 day exile ) to possibly be back post-apology and it'll be business as usual. The usual talking heads will support him and the detractors will detract. Seeing that Dr. Nancy Snyderman ( who in my estimation is a POS ) came back after laying low for a couple months after her Ebola incident, it'll probably be the same for Williams. These people are "infotainers" more than they are "journalists" so I would expect the outcome to be more about reputation ( for the network ) and money than necessarily how correct or not Williams statement was...Snyderman was welcomed back with a "it's good to have you back...you're a valuable part of NBC news." So if Williams is salvageable, I would expect it to play out in a similar manner. "Welcome back Brian, you're a valuable component to what makes NBC News the world leader in blahblahblah." Maybe even predictable....

Sorry Hotwheels really shouldn't have meant it for you but for just a general thought. So many seem to believe that only their side is the only truth side and the others are all liars. When a person goes back and checks on lies of the different networks, including cable and of talk hosts it is rather scary how many lies are told and even when caught at it don't go back and retract it. Again sorry.

There is no such thing anymore.

I am starting to think that he may be history. These images are everywhere and twitter is blowing up. Also bringing Nancy Snyderman back cost them a LOT of "capital". Any vestage of credibility that they feel they had might evaporate if they keep Brian.

I say they will get rid of BOTH Snyderman and Brian...cleaning house..so to speak.
