Considering the questionable veracity of the news in general, how much credibility has someone who tells us those news have to begin with?

Network News stopped being news a couple of decades ago. Now they're propaganda broadcasts calculated to make gullible people feel a certain way so they'll vote a certain way. It's all lies, half-truths, false drama, and innuendo supporting a political agenda.

I think Williams failed on a personal level, while doing nothing worse than what he has been doing on a professional level for a living. If his morals allow him to do this job at all, why wouldn't his morals also allow him to tell a personal lie? I can't say I feel betrayed, because I don't trust him or any other person who reports the news to begin with.

Don't forget he's an old pro and should be rather skilled at telling lies without getting caught. I wonder how he expected to get away with his tale in the long run, since his story involved many eyewitnesses. I think he may try to excuse his lie by claming to have gone down the rabbithole, to have been shellshocked and confused, being unable to separate real events from scenarios going through his mind at the time.

At least he doesn't half-tuck, he is rather a complete tucker.
