Currently on a Greyhound bus heading to El Paso. There is a enroute stop in Las Cruces.

Bus is not crowded. Bus driver departed eight minutes early from my pick up location. I didn't think to well of the early departure, and this bus only runs twice a week. Missing the bus means a person is stranded for a few days.

I am taking the bus to the El Paso bus terminal, and then a Uber to the El Paso airport. I have a vehicle in the El Paso airport parking lot. Thought this was the most efficient way to get the vehicle.

The last time I took a Greyhound was 2007. Took a Greyhound to saint Louis airport, and then flew to San Antonio to pickup a vehicle.

Life is full of adventures.

What vehicle are you picking up? I Appreciate you riding the bus so I dont have to - to experience such luxury.
I have my 2015 f350 parked at the airport. I was supposed to fly in last Saturday from Anchorage to pick it up. Instead, I flew Anchorage to Seattle on Saturday and picked up my 2095 GX479 and drove the GX470 to New Mexico. I live about 100 miles from the El Paso airport, so needed a way to bring the F350 home.

They arent great but they arent usually bad.

It's a comfier cheaper seat than an airplane (usually not always) and when you have more time on your hands than money they work fine.
I have little money, and even less time. The bus stop was a two mile walk from my home. The pickup was 1640/440pm. The bus time was only about 30 minutes longer than driving, but counting the Uber time from El Paso bus depot to El Paso airport.

Thought this was a efficient way.

You got a 3fer.
Sounds cheaper, easier and without an overly harsh time penalty.

I Look forward to the end of trip report.

I have taken greyhound once. Maybe 25 years ago when one of my Fords left me stranded where the middle of nowhere meets BF Egypt. The bus was fine. It was half full - overnight ride - interesting bunch. Arrived unscathed.

Interestingly I have been looking at Amtrak - mainly because I drive by there terminal often but have never taken Amtrak. Somehow after riding German Trains frequently I think I might be setting myself up for disappointment?

Yes, you would be disappointed in Amtrak for numerous reasons, when compared to German trains. Last Amtrak I took was two years ago also to pickup a vehicle.

This bus is not bad. The guy in front of me reclined his seat, and has BO. I don't care, life is tough for some and I get why someone in the bus may have BO. I have sat next to many people of commercial aircraft with BO, now that does get me frustrated.

I’ve ridden AMTRAK several times in the past few years.

I pay for business class, totally worth it, if for nothing more than the extra leg room, but the power outlet and assigned seat make it significantly better.

They are generally on time, generally pleasant. Generally clean. I actually wish we had greater frequency of service out of Norfolk. My daughter was going to school in New Haven, CT, so, Norfolk station, change in DC, Union Station in New Haven. Takes more time than driving, but the cost is about the same and the stress level much, much lower.

She’s going to school in Boston, now, and the same calculus applies - slower than flying, a bit slower than driving, but far lower stress than driving. AMTRAK is a viable alternative.

I remember taking either Greyhound or Continental Trailways to Springfield, MO from San Pedro, CA in the 1950's. Bus was our mode of travel because airline tickets were so expensive. Given the length of the ride, I imagine we all had BO by the time we got there.
