T6 15w-40 full Synthetic in winter

Forgot that, You don't know Kubota, that's ok , thanks. Kubota oil specs are 50 years to old.. lol
Doesn’t really matter much if someone knows it. The manual is your guide - what does it tell you?

From my older MB diesels, I’d say single digits (F) is ok but I’d prefer above freezing in general.

Since we do run a kubota diesel long-term after hurricanes in generator service down in the Caribbean, I do actually have a manual photo to help with that…

Note they want 10W oils or straight weights. Not sure why. But you can see that they change from 10 to 20 wt at freezing, so my guidance is about right.

Since it’s not in generator service where it is started abruptly then loaded rapidly, and since you are going to have it garages and can run a block heater, I’d have no concerns running 15w-40 below freezing to the levels that MB alllows without concern.

I really like not worrying about starting my stuff even if I can't get near a power outlet or run the block heater. If it was my engine and only getting one oil change per year, I'd run 5w40 or 0w40 year round, no question.

I've run a 15w40 summer oil in my Land Cruiser the last couple years and 5w40 the rest of the time. Once my stock of 15w40 is gone, it's getting 5w40 or 0w40 year round. One less variable to track, I don't want to have to watch temps and think about getting the summer oil out of the sump.
