Amazon has Mag 1 Low-vis synthetic ATF that is spec for SP-IV, DW-1, Toyota-WS for $5/Q. Other recommended fluid Valvoline maxlife also mention SP-IV Z-1 spec.

How many of you are willing to use this as flush fluid or initial drain-fill with the very last fill using genuine Hyundai, Honda or Toyota Fluid?

I would. It has the proper specs. and quite frankly, Mag 1 is a good sleeper oil. Could even use something cheaper if it's for just a drain and fill for a couple of hundred mile, like Supertech, if that's an option. Though with Supertech, I'm not sure what certifications it has. Otherwise, Mag 1 is a-okay.

There will be residual ATF in the torque converter. So supertech is out of the question. Supertech has dex-IV, Dex/Merc, ATF+4 and type-F. No asian imports are listed as compatible.

Looks like you've done your homework, so go with your plan of attack. If it counts for anything, I've used Mag 1 oils quite extensively with excellent results. Running their conventional oil in my fleet vehicles and their differential oils in a company truck. No complaints from me.

Do you know if your transmission even needs a flush? I would run Auto-Rx for a few thousand miles and then change to Amsoil ATF. I see no need for a genuine Honda or Toyota ATF.

they also have a multi vehicle atf and a high mileage multi vehicle atf that covers asian imports. but i do not know if it is low viscosity covering the newest fluids? it is always sold out at my walmart, can't keep it on the shelves.

Just use it. Mag 1 makes great stuff!

Mag-1 Low-Vis can be your final fill and stay in your transmission. If it meets the standard(s) you need, it meets the standards. Full synthetic for $5/qt is a great deal.

What kind of car will this be going into?

Auto-rx is a cleaning agent for dirty transmission, my car is less than 4 years old and only need fluid replacement.

Amsoil Mltivehicle synthetic ATF cost 11.50/Q and it isn't compatible with WS, DW-1 or SPH-IV.
Fluid replacement with Amsoil won't save me any money and on top of that it isn't even spec for my vehicle.

I have an 8th gen accord, sonata YF and 10th gen corolla.

Mag1 Low-Vis is perfect for all three of those cars. You don't have to finish with the dealer ATF, just use the Mag 1 as is.

Does your Accord monitor the ATF as part of the maintenance minder? If it does, then you can use Mag 1 for the entire interval suggested by it, or as otherwise suggested by Honda if ATF isn't included in the minder.

Not only is it cheaper than the dealer, but you don't have to buy three different kinds of ATF--just the Low-Vis will work for all three cars.

Super Tech products are likely very similar if not exactly the same as Mag 1, but Walmart doesn't carry any full synthetic ATF except for a Super Tech licensed ATF+4 (Chrysler's licensing requirements are more strict than anyone else's--it's not just a performance spec, but rather they dictate what ingredients you can use and even where you can get them from, and the only approved package is a group III base and a Lubrizol add pack), so ALL (licensed) ATF+4 is synthetic

I wish WM did carry the Mag 1 synthetic products though!

I've asked them this question about oils and ATFs, and they have always said that their Mag1 line is better than the stuff they blend for SuperTech. They won't go into the details of why because of proprietary reasons.

you would think if it was different they would shout the reason from the mountains! example: group III oil, better add pack etc... they can site the two vague examples given with out giving up company secrets or giving the ingredients to the fluid
s
when you get the statement above it makes me suspicious they are the same!
