Hi all. My 2004 Vibe has reached 75000 miles. I'm the original owner and have been using synthetic oil since about the 33000 mile mark. I have used primarily PP 5w30. I do 6000 miles or 6 months oci. My vibe uses no oil at all between oci. Should I switch to a HM oil or stay with the Platinum. If I switch I want to stay with a full synth. I shop for oil at walmart and they don't carry maxlife full synth. So, I quess that leaves me with Mobil 1 HM 5-30. Not much of a fan of Mobil 1, but whatever is best for the 1.8L engine. What you all think?

Thanks!

My Corolla (2005) has reached 212,000 miles. Never seen a HM oil or that much syn and its still running like new.

Change the oil with any API rated SL (or higher) 5w30 and that IS "best". Syn not needed.

The HM / 75,001 "rule" is only a marketing joke.

+1. If it ain't broke;don't fix it. This is no time to "cheap out";stay with the PP.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping to hear from more people. I most likely will stick with the PP. I think it will keep the engine cleaner than dino.
Thanks!

I actually have had great uoa with both PP or Mobil 1 HM so take your pick. I have had vehicles that the Mobil HM has slowed or even stopped leaks, with either one your getting a great oil so choose and no worries we all have different opinions on oil.
