So far I have gone about 3k miles with a load of Supertech Syn 5w20 in my 03 Crown Vic and the oil is only just below the full mark. The engine seems to consume less of this oil then the last oil which was Mobil 5000 high mileage. Filter is a standard Motorcraft. Think ill try for a 10k OCI

It's possible that the previous Mobil 5000 high mileage did it, it reduced the oil leak through the seals and now you see the result with Supertech Synthetic.

+1

I'm running SuperTech Synthetic 5w20 in my sister's 2005 Civic. The car seems to run much quieter. I'm about to do a drain after 8,000 miles and the oil still looks pretty good on the stick.

One thing to be mindful about Super Tech Synthetic is the NOAK is a little higher than SOPUS or M1 synthetic oils ... For this reason you may not want to push the OCI past 7,500 miles or so or potentially risk deposits / sludge formulation.

It might just be me imagining things but my nose detects a burnt oil smell when I start my car up warm since I switched to Supertech. Or maybe I've developed an oil leak...

Maybe some oil was spilled on the exhaust manifold during the oil change?

Not that it's ever happened to me...
