Supertech over Redline?

It's that amazing feeling of superiority engendered by being one of the cool kids.
Like the folks who wear 80 dollar jeans which have no pragmatic value as garments over the 25 dollar ones.
Just read that the Starbux guy made a half billion in the last 10 yrs selling overpriced coffee.
Find the right psychology and make serious money.

They attract girls looking for men rich-enough to waste $80 on jeans (and other stuff)

I did mention the fact that oil changes are done for you, free of charge

Where can I get that deal?

The Toyota dealer did my last oil change for $7.96 labor. The car was in for the airbag recall. I brought a dealer coupon which has a discounted labor rate. He backs off the oil and filter cost.

Simple. Get in good friendship with a shop owner. In my case - such shop owner was the origin of the topic for this thread.

Liqui-Moly or Moutl, the boutique option. And remember, one filter, one OCI!

Are we also assuming the car doesn't leak, burn, or consume any oil during the OCI?

I would run Mobil 1 EP or 0w-40 or Castrol euro oil over Redline oil for the miles. Less cost and probably better.

Or, if you could get store brand synthetic (Smitty's or Supertech) at the price of $12 per 5 quarts, would you rather change it five times at 2k OCIs? Let's say the oil changes are done for you free of charge and for all 10k there will be on one Fram Ultra filter. So given these circumstances which of the listed options would be the best for the engine?

This one is easy.
I would use Supertech and change at whatever the owners manual OCI calls for.
My engine will be better off and no oil has ever proved itself better then Supertech when it comes to wear. Why, because they all meet the same API requirements.

I agree with Chuckie.

Redline has NO approvals.

I would NOT take the risk for extended drains with this despite marketing hype .

I would NOT go more than 3k miles or 5k Kms on Redline.

Its NOT a waste, its just expensive to use.

Good RACE oil IMO.

Run Valvoline Synthetic or Platinum and change at 6K. I use Fram Tough Guard for two 6K OCIs. So your Fram Ultra can easily do two 6K OCIs, for a total of 12K. You can probably run Supertech Syn or NAPA syn on sale also. Next NAPA sale will likely be April. Stock up and save.

So it's a great race oil which has nothing to do with what the OP is trying to achieve whether he knows it or not. There is literally no reason Redline should be considered for somebody mentioning "fixed income" and extended drains in a street car.

Does he give-away free donuts?
If so then every 2000 miles would be appropriate.

Considering your circumstances, I would go 5k with M1. I would never go for 10k OCI's and 2k is a waste of time and natural resouces.

I would not run Redline engine oil in street car, unless that motor was really "built"... And that customer does not fit your scenario... So my answer would be use something else.

Redline is not usually intended as an extended drain oil. Maybe you can go there, but I wouldn't ...
