I was just at Walmart today and QS UD was $20.57 for 5Qts, the cheapest synthetic. ST Syn was $21.47.

Anyway, why bother with SuperTech so-called synthetic oil? What do you hope to achieve with it? Less engine wear than a top brand name oil? I doubt it. Longer oil life? Show me the data. If I have a need for syn oil (better protection at temperature extremes, longer oil life) I'll buy an excellent syn. Otherwise, I'll buy an excellent conventional oil. "Synthetic" is a marketing term, not a technical term. Buy oil with the performance you need to get the engine protection you need.

Nonsense! Any dino can do 6k, plus he lives in PA. I'm sure XOM is making that oil in that area anyway.

Go for the ST synthetic. Its a great oil. We have a bunch of "oil snobs" here that like to thumb their noses at anything that doesn't have a shiny label or a "brand name"
Yeah, I already noticed this when I joined. I dont plan to do a uoa either unless I see some major changes in oils such as ST. I know on one hand about 4 people that use the ST oils in stuff without issues and for up to 5k, and the one person, my boss used the ST 5w20 in his Mazda for up to 7k just on syn. He does 60% highway rest is decent drives of maybe 15-25 min.
I ran it in my Mazda 3 for 5000 or more miles before. Not a single issue at all. Still got good mileage and everything.
