It looks like this vehicle will be one of the Chrysler/Dodge products that will use a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Perhaps after a couple of changes, it will adjust.

not if you continue using M-1, which can be consumed by certain vehicles much faster than another brand. Try something (anything) else and I am willing to bet your oil consumption will decrease

For $15.00 I just go down the road with my own oil & filter to my neighborhood Ford Quick Lane & they take care of me. They don't serve me any Beers however! Just stale coffee. Lol

What did you need the BFH for?

No, drained and filled with 4 and a half. Just one pic of the havoline, I didn't want to bore you with 3 and a half more photos of the same thing.

What brand of LED lights are those in the bumper?

Not sure. Never looked at them or hooked them up. That's one of my projects for this summer! I have only had the bumper two years :S

Motorcraft and PYB, nice!

I can't wait to get Pennzoil back in mine. C'mon July...

This is the "evolution of oil" oil change. 1X Straight 30 PYB , 1X 10w-30 PYB and 4.5 quarts of 5w30 PYB. I should have just got 5 quarts of 10w-30 to begin with.

I swear the engine is quieter already!

The lighter oil (had T6 previously) and the fan clutch have definitely helped mileage!

The bolt that holds the fan shroud in on the passenger side broke off. I had to saw through the bolt. Initially, I tried to break it by hitting the pry bar with the BFH. Then, I realized that was a REALLY bad idea since I was an inch from the radiator!

4qt. 5-30 Mobil 5000 + 2qt. of the M5000 10-40 went into the 2000 Silverado today, with a PureOne filter. 215K on the 5.3, still just needs 1qt. makeup oil between 5000 mile changes.

"She purrs like a kitten now!"

That or you had a few too many beers.

I was going to post this in the "why does my engine run better after an oil change" thread...Did you have more than 3 beers?

Anything above freezing is shorts and BBQ weather in SD.
