Does this look like the appropriate amount of 'flattening' for the rubber bushing? There's no way to get a regular torque wrench on it because you have to hold the top of the strut to keep it from turning. 18ft lbs so I'm kind of guessing. Is the bushing supposed to flatten out pass the top washer?

They make some kind of pass-thru socket for that, or you can just zip it down with an impact :sneaky:

Also, 18 lb ft isn't a LOT of torque, so you can just use an allen key in the middle and use a box wrench to tighten the nut itself, and that should be enough.

If you can't guesstimate what 18 ft lbs of torque feels like, take the torque wrench and tighten something else to that to get a feel for it.

No you don't want to overly compress the bushing till it mushrooms out much, if any past the washer. 18 ft lbs isn't much so you probably already torqued it enough.
