Struggling with 2003 Camry last night

haha, very funny, but seriously, I live in metro detroit, it's a very vehicle reliant area, with next to no public transportation where I live, though I know the city of detroit and some surrounding suburbs do have a bus service, but it doesn't service where I live or where I work, so I'm going to need a car, though it does service one of the areas I buy groceries at.

Any tips on the drain plug? I"m going to ypsilanti to go to this mechanic that I know is really good and i'll have him "work his magic" and hopefully find a cheap fix to my oil drain plug and (slightly) leaking trans case (silver thing behind the pan, NOT the trans pan, where the drain plug is, which I believe may have been compromised by an unscrupulous mechanic who had inspected my car, I didn't overtighten the drain plug, I've tightened my drain plug and now I even have a torque wrench, but I know I didn't as I test it every time I tighten it to see if I can still loosen it, then I set it back to where I tightened it at.

To prove I'm not a troll, and also becasue I have a lot of time this week as I'm not going to work next week and have been on Christmas break, so I've had lots of time to figure this out and do errands, but on a typical weekend/day, I wouldn't have had time to do this.
This took nearly all day

what's that silver thing behind the trans pan, with the drain plug which you can see, included?
i'm compromising my security, doing this, but I'll do this this time only to prove I'm telling the truth. You can see the "leak" which is really minor, do you see the red spot? it's leaking slowly but leaking nevertheless,a dn you can see the damaged "gasket" or red rubbery gasket or rtv or whatever that is, that seal/gasket has been damaged.

My phone has had issues too where the USB won't connect, the computer won't recognize the USB and said "the hardware failed to install" or when I tried plugging it in, and on this one occasion, after many, it finally worked, tooked almost a whole day. I've been having a lot of phone trouble too, recently, but that's unrelated. So please don't make fun of me, life happens, lot of "s word" happens, and apparently, as of late, a lot of "s word" has been happening to me, so yes, though it seems statistically "impossible" or very unlikely, that low likelihood of everything breaking/not working properly, not just my car, happens to all just happen to me recently, it's unfortunate.

and just to throw in my caliper just 'cause. I guess I'll include my water pump too soon.

Do these get deleted ,or how do you delete them? I used tinypic.

I was not lying, I just never figured out image sharing, I've been really busy with life and work, and don't have time to do lots of things, but this is Christmas break for me, i'm off for a whole week, and have been off since Christmas eve, so I've had plenty of time to do stuff and figure stuff out and I want to solve my car issues this week so I can start off the new year with a fresh new working car and be able to go to work without worrying about my car leaving me stranded and hopefully be on this site less often asking questions and have more time to live life and not have to worry about my vehicle giving me continous headaches for months, though i'd also like to improve my diy skills and diy some things myself so I can continue to diy them in the future, so that I can save lots of money.
I also didn't post pictures because I was worried about privacy as somebody could locate where the pictures were taken and find my address and bad things could happen if that were the case.

Don't be fooled. Bet you a million bucks these pics have been lifted from other threads. Even if he is real, he is utterly incapable of comprehending and implementing any advice given here. It should be illegal for anyone this incompetent to drive his vehicle on a public road after he has "repaired" critical systems such as braking and suspension.

The pictures are real. Do you need me to send them to you? Try finding the pictures elsewhere, I posted them last night on tinypic. Now, how does that bracket come off? in a video, he mentioned spark plug pliers, what about any other tools, as the pliers, after all, are SPARK PLUG pliers and not brake pliers. Or are spark plug pliers perfect for this job?

I'm not convinced. Anybody can take some pictures of their car. I don't believe the powerbait story either.

He is very persistent, posts often, and writes long posts. Taking some pictures is not out of the question to add credibility to his posts. If people know that he's trolling he won't get good responses out of people.

Mr. Professional Troll, I posted this link before, you must have missed it. Here it is again, it includes procedures required for all service on your vehicle, including the "perfect" tools for the job(s). Good luck, and go away.

It took you all day to connect your phone to the computer to import pictures to it?

Dude, I just take a picture and email it to myself LOL takes like 10 seconds to send it as an email. Then, poof! It's on my computer.

But 99% of the time I just upload to tinypic and post links from my phone or iPad.

Ignorance is correctable, but stupidity is not. After seeing all the good advice that has been ignored I'm of the belief that this is not a case of ignorance, willful or not.

Engineer20, feel free to set me straight, but I'll want evidence to the contrary.

Also, you can post pictures without exif data. Not that any sane person anywhere would want to know where you or your car reside; except maybe to kill the car with extreme prejudice to bring this whole sordid spectacle to a close.

Ok, so people thought I was trolling, and wanted pictures. I gave you pictures, and now you don't believe the pictures, I'm afriad there's not much else I can do, except maybe just the trust from the bitog's community. I will be honest, I know I'm not the smartest, and thanks for not making your comment insulting and wording it in the nicest way possible, I appreciate that, but arguing about whether or not the pictures are real, etc aren't helping, what I need help with is suggestions about the car issues which is why I came on this site, such as the trans pan leak, the oil drain plug, and what I can do if I can have the mechanic who inspected my car admit to doing so. Do you think I would need or get a lawyer for this and would that be worth it or no? Thanks.

Engineer20, thanks for the PM's asserting you are not a troll and asking me to stop attacking you. I will do as you ask and never again respond to any of your posts. However, it is my firm belief that you are either a twisted pathological liar or utterly incapable of comprehending and implementing any advice given here or TN. Good luck.

Thanks, but anybody can help or provide assistance with this leaking transmission case? Would jb weld work? I heard it only is temporary, but if I JB weld it once a month or every so often, can it hold up and last for about 10 more years? I'm trying to drive this car till 2025 or 300k miles.

There will be a few drips from a 12 year old car. If you aren't losing enough to affect the level in the transmission just leave it alone.

It is likely that fluid is coming from the axle seals or something else higher up rather than the case itself. In any sort of fluid leak you need to clean fluid off and look closely to investigate exactly where it is coming from. Because although it always drips off of the bottom of the car, it usually didn't start there.

I would be very happy to find out what kind of question he would be asking us. I will gladly jump back in then :-)

what have you got against comedy, man? lol.here's a thought -- engineer 20 should hook up with 'prone, and work on their respective vehicles, together.the threads that would follow would give us a lot of laughs.
