My motor oil Quart bottle has a hole so its leaking. I want to transfer to some other container. What kind of container is best to transfer it?

Oil used to be stored in cans but they went to plastic because its cheaper. So if it was clean with no rust and air tight with a cap sure you could have a favorite pour container. Every so often I buy 1qt and replace my top off-er. I like the fact I can see the marks for 1/2 qt through the plastic quarts.

They do seem to get "soft" after a while...hmmmm...what in plastic would show up in a UOA...

Surprised no one has mentioned the best container to put it in - the crankcase of your car.

Otherwise, just use whatever you've got on hand - another oil bottle, a jar, empty coffee can, Ziploc bag, etc...
