Stainless sink hose replacement gaskets.

Okay, so I've gobbed a bunch of Teflon tape on these stainless braided hoses that go to my tankless water heater and it still has a periodic drip. Looks like it has a rubber gasket inside, so in theory I don't think it should need any Teflon tape at all. Are these just a standard size?

Looks like this type. The heater came with those brass fittings and I didn't know what to do with them. There was a rubber oring/washer of some sort inside the hose though, but no telling if that was supposed to be there or not.

the washer would be fixed in a supply line such as that. its a compression type fitting. best would be to replace the supply you could try pipe dope to the face of the fitting and Teflon closer to where the fittings mating surface is. applying sealant at the threads won't do much of anything your water tight seal is not at the threads

I get that, but mine gaskets need to be replaced. Should be able to just get the gasket by itself.

If you have success at removing whatever remaining washer material left with a pick, you may find o-rings to fit. Still no guarantee of being leak-free. But you may get lucky

I'm just glad I'm not a plumber. If I had to guess the previous owner probably kept old stainless hoses and reused them.

Maybe I need to just put two new hoses on instead. He's got 4 hoses in total though attached to a T. I guess I could just just replace the two going to the water heater and be good after that.

I'd replace what's leaking or giving you trouble, I never dig deeper than I have too. do you have pictures to share?

I just figured you could get the gaskets for them. I'll post pictures too. I almost think the fitting on the water heater side is seeping too. That's an npt and on the hose side, that's more of a straight thread

Without seeing it can’t say for sure. the water heater itself should have standard pipe thread on the nipples. 3/4”.

If it’s serviceable they would most likely be 3/4 heat trap nipples

The tag around the hose said 3/8" The brass adaptors came in the box with the water heater. Wouldn't go on without the adaptors on.

3/8x3x8, 3/8 comp x 3/8 pipe thread? What make is this water heater is it a small on demand unit aka point of use?
