The moment the spark plug socket goes loose and you realize you’re in for a long sweaty afternoon..........
Did you use a screw extractor to remove it?Been there, done that, front head center plug on a Vulcan 3.0 in a Taurus.
Yeah some rather large easy outs and an oxy-acetylene torch. 120k on the OE plugs they were almost rusted in there.Did you use a screw extractor to remove it?
yesWouldn't using a low torque impact help in this situation (pre-breaking)?
Change 'em sooner.Ahhh...does this resurrect the "Anti-Seize / No-Anti-Seize" debate?
Seriously, what could the OP have done to prevent this? All I can think of is squirting penetrant ahead of time.
Well, yes, those work well but are they ideal for spark plugs? A bit of it might leak into the combustion chamber.I like Kroil, but it's gotten outrageously expensive since Kano Labs was bought out. PB B'laster or Liquid Wrench are both good.

A neighbor -a true 'boat guy' from birth- is a Coast Guard instructor.I apply it to other bolts that might one day be stuck aswell.
I like a product called Free all. Works well in my experianceI like Kroil, but it's gotten outrageously expensive since Kano Labs was bought out. PB B'laster or Liquid Wrench are both good.
