They have the same issues as the classics. It has been beat to death here, there is actually a list someone started somewhere. Go on google and search your question with bobistheoilguy after it. It works better then the search on this website.

High.

lol

Yes, the P1's have the same tearing issues as the Classic. The worst in terms of torn media are the 14459 and 14610. Bosch 3312 and 3323 are reboxed P1's.

Date codes from December 2014 and later will probably not tear and should be safe. Date codes tarting with F12F or FxxG are OK to use.

The Purolator Synthetic (blue can) does not tear.

this is exactly what I was looking for thank you :):):)

Data from Motorking on XG flow rate ... read this post from here forward. As said, the FU flows well as it's full synthetic media.

Here's the tear report spreadsheet. There are actually more than it shows as Stu_Rock stopped updating it quite a while ago.

I had a torn PureOne PL14610. Others had as well, but not as many as Classics.

Mine was manufacturered in 2013. I have no idea whether it's fixed in current production or not. I sent another to Purolator for testing 2 months ago, and am waiting to hear something back from them. In the mean time, I am running a Wix.

I had a PL10241 tear in three places. The date codes are in the post. I am not sure if the problem is solved or not--DRGAD, I moved to a different brand of filters.

I found a defective ADBV on a Bosch made by Purolator. It's not only the tearing. This ADBV did not seal the inlet holes at all. I am using a Bosch Distance Plus right now that has a different ADBV design, the valve has a neck that protrudes into the center hole so I can see by eye it is OK. I put it on just to use it up. I am happy I did not install this one shown.

Purolator has not admitted to a problem. I would stay clear of any Purolator oil filter.

They are still fine. There never was any concrete evidence that a problem ever existed. All that you will find are members who engaged in mass hysteria, where the only admissible and "credible"'evidence were photos of pictures that "failed" and photos of those that didn't were nothing more than lucky or exceptions to the rule. Purolator has been the go to filter for many here (myself included) for years. Use with confidence. Dollar for dollar pound for pound, I would say the pureone is the best all around option, but pick some up and let us know what you think!! Good luck!
